My art centers around color, light, and the capture of a moment. I’m not typically attempting to tell a story rather I aim to capture what is. Strong strokes and powerful colors, wanting even the greys and browns to have a depth to them. I’m all for letting the brain fill in the little details, and the direction of a stroke or the little dab of light will be the trigger to make that happen. You may have also noticed that I appear to like cats. This is true. Very much so. Jack (the orange and white guy- and technically "Captain Jack Redshirt") was, along with his brother Finn, my first kitten. He was also the subject of my first oil painting. It was a happy success, and well, if it 'aint broke don’t fix it! I’ve started to expand to human based portraiture- what normal people call "portraiture"- as well as landscapes. However, I suspect it will be a rare time when more than 3 paintings go by and there are no cats. Cats! This Georgetown Catelier print shop offers reproductions of the following works in various sizes and mediums.
